More on Mem

Although Omega and Aleph are Unicode savvy, they are not Unicode systems in the sense they do not comform directly the Unicode specifications without further work. They are programmable environments and therefore they can left widening its capabilities to extensions usually known as formats and packages. Mem is a LaTEX package which intends to let LaTEX and Omega understand and typeset Unicode documents.

Among the goal of Mem we have:

• A high level interface for switching and handling languages
• Combining several languages and writing systems in the same document
• Handling composite characters
• Selecting a suitable (or just available) font for an script
